HONG KONG (Dow Jones)- Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (ACH), China’s largest alumina and aluminum producer, said Monday its net profit last year fell 14% because of rising costs.
 
The company, better known as Chalco, posted net profit for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2007 of CNY10.24 billion, down from CNY11.84 billion the year before.

The result was below the average CNY11.30 billion forecast of 20 analysts polled earlier by Thomson Financial.

Revenue rose to CNY76.18 billion from CNY64.83 billion.

Chalco’s board proposed a final dividend of CNY0.053, down from CNY0.115 a year earlier.
