UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announces the appointment of Eugueny Fyodorov as the Director of the RUSAL Engineering and Construction Division. Valery Matvienko, who held this position until recently, was appointed First Deputy CEO of Norilsk Nickel in December 2008. For several years Eugueny Fyodorov has held executive positions in RUSAL. As the Director of the Engineering and Construction Division Mr. Fyodorov will be responsible for improving the efficiency of maintenance and repair activities on RUSAL’s production sites, supervising in-house engineering works and overseeing construction and modernisation projects at the aluminium and alumina operations. The functions of the Energy Division previously headed by Mr. Fyodorov, which include the management of RUSAL’s coal and transport assets in Kazakhstan, will be assumed by the RUSAL Engineering and Construction Division. Biography Prior to this appointment Eugueny Fyodorov was the Director of the RUSAL Energy Division since March 2008 and was in charge of developing RUSAL’s own energy platform to support the aluminium production, searching for new power sources and other opportunities helping in developing this area of business. In 20062008 Eugueny Fyodorov headed the Boguchansky Energy and Metals Complex, a joint project of RUSAL and RusHydro. Earlier he had been the head of the power engineering unit within the RUSAL Engineering and Construction Division, and also the head of the project development unit of the Energy Department. He was born in Obninsk in 1978. In 2001 Eugueny graduated from the Bauman Technical University in Moscow. He also holds a PhD in Economics after his post-graduate course at the Moscow Institute of Energy.
