In Sync: Connect Four Devices with Kanex Wireless Keyboard

Apple users could be forgiven for thinking they already have all the accessory options they could ever have imagined.

Now, however, comes the Kanex MultiSync Keyboard to provide an answer – an answer to a question you might not even have thought to ask.
The Kanex keyboard is a full-size wireless keyboard with an elegant look that features black keys against its aluminium frame and works well at the desktop. What really sets it apart, though, is the ease with which the keyboard lets you connect up to four Apple or iOS keyboards at the same time time.

There are four Bluetooth keys that make it easy to toggle back and forth with one-touch command. For example, a user can respond to a text sent via iPhone, take notes on the iPad, type on the Mac and shift seamlessly between these tasks. Add an Apple TV, and each device is still controlled by its own button on the keyboard but all paired to it. The Bluetooth 3.0 capacity makes for faster connection between the devices, but it also means that your USB ports are freed up because you don't need them for wireless.
The design reflects the connectivity and performance customers expect, the company said in a release, while aligning the technology with the consumer's daily needs in ways that deliver real utility and ease.

At the same time, that flat design and the light weight of the aluminium body make it easy to move around the house – and just as easy to fit into a laptop bag or your luggage gear whenever you need to hit the road. The keyboard is just 1.3 inches high, with a depth of 6.4 inches and a width of 19.3 inches. The battery-operated Kanex MultiSync wireless also relies on two AAA batteries that users must replace.
That last detail raised a few eyebrows among reviewers who wondered why Kanex didn't make the keyboard with a rechargeable battery option, or even a different size disposable battery. Ultimately, the limited battery option doesn't interfere with day-to-day performance and is easy to keep running. What they did agree on is that the overall design looks sharp in the office or home setting, because the premium aluminium and classic black chiclet keys complement Apple Mac products with a similar look.

The Kanex MultiSync can be used outside of the Apple ecosystem too, because the keyboard connects to Samsung, LG, Hp, Lenovo, and Dell Bluetooth devices as well. For its intended Apple compatibility uses, the keyboard required devices with Apple MacOS X 10.6 or later systems, and the Apple iOS 5.0 or later.
